Even if at first bikinis were designed for women only, with time they have become an often used fashion and sports article for men too.These days they are as worn and sold in the fashion stores almost as those for women are.The society we live in has different oppienies about men’s bikinis. Some of them think they are unnecessary and shamefull for the men, other that a man is as entitled as any women to wear comfortable underwear .
At first ,men’s bikinis were created to help the sportives have a better comfort and they were also called swimsuit because they were often used by swimmers. They were made after the women’s models, having the same main characteristics,with higher or lower sided panels, but with a simple lines instead and sober colours, in order to fit men’s personality and the prejudies people had at that time . Being easily accepted by the wide world ,men’s bikinis have been worn in the most common situations, not only in the sports competitions by sportives. In fact ,some punk male star appeared on stage wearing bikinis and a Bollywood movie had a scene where the male actors where sitting on a beach wearing bikinis. Soon after that the respected fashion marks like Dolce & Gabbana , Giorgio Armani or Paul Smith have created their own perspective in which concernes men’s bikinis, represented by a black simple line model at first. Giani Versace decided to break the ice and added more colour and shapes to men’s bikinis in his collection ,and since then there are manufactured different models to satisfy even the most fastidious clients. The impressive amount of sails on men’s bikinis is a real proof that people like this peace of clothing and consier it necessary for improving their personal stlye .
At the beginning of their appearance ,men’s bikinis were regarded a little akward if worn at sight, on public beaches or if they were worn by men when they were going at the pool. But since women have so much liberty when it comes to showing their bodies ,why not men have the same? Now men are free to use bikinis ,wherever they would go. Though in the United States they aren’t as popular as in Europe, men’s binkis still remain a controversed peice of clothing and they are regarded by both men and women in different ways.
